Novus Public Affairs Launches RALI NH
The Rx Abuse Leadership Initiative (RALI), wanted to create a national education and advocacy campaign to help prevent the misuse of prescription drugs. After several unsuccessful efforts to gain traction, RALI turned to Novus to create a successful launch of a state chapter in New Hampshire to create momentum for the program within a short time-period.
Within weeks, Novus’ team was able to recruit community leaders, parents, healthcare organizations and elected state and local government officials to commit to working with RALI NH to find effective solutions and share ideas to combat the opioid crisis in New Hampshire. This effort led to the successful launch of the organization with Governor Chris Sununu keynoting a press conference that included the participation of 23 RALI partners including law enforcement, hospitals, substance misuse, and health care organizations. Once launched Novus worked with RALI partners to distribute more than 150,000 disposal prescription drug pouches and educational materials, and administered $160,000 worth of grants to support education and addiction programs. Education efforts included PSAs from the Governor, State Senate President, House Speaker and Majority Leader and numerous other state legislative and community leaders. Novus also organized and promoted the nation’s first CODE 3 trailer tour educating NH parents across the state about the early signs of drug misuse.
RALI NH created the momentum RALI needed to continue its work in other states and was ultimately recognized by the federal Drug Enforcement Agency as the “Prevention Coalition Leader Statewide.”
