Who's Running for Governor?

We at Novus Public Affair hope you all had an enjoyable holiday season.

While you were opening gifts under the tree, attending parties and ringing in the New Year, some consequential news broke over the past couple of weeks you may have missed.

As you probably know, Gov. Chris Sununu is riding high with a 60% approval rating. But that doesn’t mean the Democrats are just going to lay down in 2018.

The New Hampshire Union Leader’s Kevin Landrigan reported on Dec. 27 that last year’s Democratic nominee Colin Van Ostern has quietly started to raise money in possible preparation for a rematch in 2018.

And just this weekend, Democratic Chair Ray Buckley promised on WMUR’s Closeup that a “Big Bang” would arrive this week in the Democrat’s search for a candidate.

And don’t forget, Steve Marchand has been running hard for the Democrat nomination for months and is off to a good start. After finishing second in the 2016 primary for Governor, Marchand has raised his name identification and developed a strong statewide network.

Stay tuned. The 2018 race for Governor is heating up.
